Release 283 Release Notes - September 2026

This page contains details of new and amended functionality included in the software update scheduled for date/month/year, known as Release 283.

Desktop Application Printing HTML Documents Fix

What have we done?

(Internal Reference D10-10196)

Fixed an error that could occur when printing HTML documents from Docman 10 to a local printer.

Why have we done this?

When users tried to print an HTML document, Docman 10 could display a Desktop App error, and the document would not print.

How will you benefit?

HTML documents can now be printed from Docman 10 without encountering the printing error.

Details of the change

We fixed an error that prevented HTML documents from printing. We also corrected temporary file handling and updated the printing process to display the correct print options.

Clinical Codes Redirect Fix

What have we done?

(Internal Reference D10-13693)

Fixed an issue where selecting Add Clinical Codes from a Review Task would not always open the newly created Coding Task.

Why have we done this?

In some cases, selecting Add Clinical Codes would leave the user on the Review Task instead of taking them to the new Coding Task.

How will you benefit?

The correct Coding Task will now open when Add Clinical Codes is selected, providing a more consistent experience when completing clinical coding.

Details of the change

We fixed an issue with the task redirect so that, after creating a Coding Task, Docman 10 correctly opens the new Coding Task rather than returning to the Review Task.

EMIS Auto Login Validation

What have we done?

(Internal Reference D10-15859)

Added a warning when EMIS Auto Login is enabled and the EMIS API credentials entered are not valid.

Why have we done this?

Previously, invalid EMIS API credentials could be saved without any warning. This could cause Patient Sync to fail without the user being aware that the credentials

were the cause.

How will you benefit?

Users will now be made aware when the EMIS API credentials may cause Patient Sync to fail, giving them the opportunity to correct the details before saving.

Details of the change

When EMIS Auto Login is enabled for England sites, Docman 10 now checks the EMIS API credentials when the user selects Save. If the credentials are not valid, a warning is shown explaining that Patient Sync will fail. The user can then either continue saving the details or cancel and return to update the credentials.

Clinical Code Browser Duplicate Codes

What have we done?

(Internal Reference D10-16143)

Fixed an issue where duplicate clinical codes could be displayed in the hierarchy

section of the Clinical Code Browser.

Why have we done this?

In some cases, the same clinical code could appear multiple times when viewing or expanding the hierarchy. The hierarchy could also remain open or display previously expanded options when navigating between codes.

How will you benefit?

Clinical codes will now be displayed correctly and uniquely, making it easier to navigate the hierarchy and find the required code.

Details of the change

We updated the Clinical Code Browser to prevent duplicate clinical codes from being displayed and improved how hierarchy options open and close. This ensures that previously displayed options are cleared when navigating between clinical codes and that the hierarchy remains in the correct state when expanded or collapsed.

Task View Fields Not Saving Fix

What have we done?

(Internal Reference D10-16474)

Fixed an issue where changes made to Task View fields were not being saved when Sent To was set to User.

Why have we done this?

When users configured fields such as Section, Status or Priority and selected Save, the changes were not retained when the Task View was reloaded.

How will you benefit?

Task View settings will save correctly, so users can configure and update their views without having to re-enter their selections.

Details of the change

We fixed an issue affecting the saving of Task View settings. Fields such as Section, Status, Priority and Task Type now save and reload correctly when Sent To is set to User. Existing Task Views and the Their Inbox option continue to work as expected.

GP2GP Export Window Fix

What have we done?

(Internal Reference D10-16901)

Fixed an issue where the GP2GP Export window could appear for a different user when the Docman Desktop Application was restarted.

Why have we done this?

When the Desktop Application was updated or restarted while a user was still logged into the Docman 10 Web App, the connection could become associated with another user. This meant the GP2GP Export window could appear for the

wrong user.

How will you benefit?

GP2GP Export actions will now remain associated with the correct user, reducing the risk of export windows appearing unexpectedly for another user.

Details of the change

The message shown when the Docman Desktop Application is updated has been updated to remind users to sign out of the Docman 10 Web App and log back in after restarting the Desktop Application. This ensures the connection is re-established with the correct user and prevents GP2GP Export actions from being sent to another user's session.

Scotland Centralise Delete Folder Management

What have we done?

(Internal Parent Reference D10-15569)

Introduced a centralised solution to retain and recover documents stored in the Deleted folder of Docman 7 for Scottish practices. The solution includes the ability to migrate deleted documents to a central repository and allow authorised users to search for and download them from Docman 10.

Why have we done this?

To prevent important documents from being lost when Docman 7 infrastructure is migrated or decommissioned. Deleted folders can contain patient documents, including import and export files, that may still be required.

How will you benefit?

Deleted documents are retained in a central location and can be recovered when required. This provides a controlled way for authorised users to locate documents for a specific patient without needing access to the original Docman 7 infrastructure.

Details of the change

A new Recover DM7 Deleted Documents user role has been introduced for Scottish practices, providing authorised users with access to the Deleted Documents functionality. During migration, the Cloud Enabler now transfers files from the Docman 7 Deleted folder to the central repository, including files within Import and Export folders and other file types. The new Docman 10 Deleted Documents screen allows authorised users to search using a CHI number and optional date range, review matching documents and select documents to download. The migration process also supports interrupted transfers and individual file failures without stopping the overall process, with relevant information retained for reporting and verification
