Gary Watkins Updated by Gary Watkins

This article will show how to capture documents from a folder.

Documents can be imported directly into Docman using the capture function. This serves as an alternative to scanning or receiving documents to the practice in electronic format.

  • Clinical documents can be added into Docman from your local network drive or computer.
  • Documents sent by email to individual staff members can be added into Docman.
  1. Select the Filing icon on the top left-hand side of the navigation bar to open the Capture & Filing section.
  2. Select the filing Folder you want to upload the document(s) to from the list on the left.
  3. From Filing Actions column on the right, select Capture. The File Capture window will open on the right.
  4. Either drag and drop a document into this field, or select the field and this will open your local and networked folder structure.
  • Drag and Drop: Select document file(s) and drag them to the File Capture window and select Add Files.
  • Select Field: Select the Capture square. A file selection window will open, navigate to the location of your document(s) on the local or network drive.
  1. When you have selected the document(s), select Open then Add Files to import them into the Capture & Filing screen.
The default limit on upload is 5MB per document. Check the file size shown on the file capture panel to make sure the size is not over the limit if the documents fail to upload.
