How to Create and Use a Quick Step
Updated
by John Austin
This article will show how to create Quick Steps.
Quick steps allow you to combine comments and other steps within the Task inbox into one activity. By building a Quick Step including a Finish step, alongside a comment or Task, this saves clicks in the Task screen process, as well as time and effort for you and other users.
To create a Quick Step:
- Select Settings from the top right-hand corner of your screen.
- Select Tasks on the left-hand side of the Settings Console.
- Select Quicksteps under the drop-down.
- Select Create New Quickstep.
- Enter the Name of your Quickstep under Quick Step Details. Be as detailed and concise as possible.
- Under Quick Step Available When, fill in the Section, Category and Task Types.
- Under Steps, add the steps you want to be performed when this quick step is utilised. Select from the drop down box then select Add Step. Repeat until all steps have been added.
- Add a finish step if you require the task to be finished immediately the quick step is used.
- Select Create.
To use a quick step, from the Actions panel within your task inbox:
- Select Quicksteps from the right-hand side of the screen in the Actions panel once you have selected a Task from the Inbox. The Quicksteps dialog will open.
- Choose a Quickstep from the list or search for a Quickstep.
- Select the chevron to check the configuration of a Quickstep. This shows the steps within the Quickstep.
- To mark a Quickstep action as a favourite, select the star icon beside the Quickstep you wish to favourite. This will then appear under the Quicksteps actions in the Actions panel.
- Once you have selected the quickstep from the quickstep dialog box, then click confirm to action it. If the quickstep has a finish step included, the task you were working on will be removed from your inbox immediately.
- Alternatively, if you are using a favourite, clicking on the appropriate quickstep in the right hand actions panel will action it immediately.
