NHS Mail Password Maintenance

Kevin Wall Updated by Kevin Wall

This article will explain how to manage your NHS mail password.

To set the NHS mail password a user must have the Electronic Collections Manager role assigned. Best practice defines that at least two key users within the practice should be given this role. Users who can edit other user profiles can allocate this role as required.

When the NHS mail password expires, it will need to be changed within the NHS mail portal. Once this has been completed you can do then do the following:

  1. Docman will prompt users for a new password with a pop up.

If you choose to Cancel the pop up prompt, this will appear as a task, within your Task list, and can be dealt with later. Alternatively, if you choose to cancel, the pop up will appear the next time you log in, until the password has been updated.

  1. Select the pop up and it will take you to the field that needs updating.
  2. Update the Password in the field.
  3. Select Verify Password.
Be aware that until the password is updated, the system will not collect any documents from the defined NHS mail accounts. Potentially delaying delivery and processing of any documents arriving by email.
