How to Set the Task Priority in a Task Template

John Austin Updated by John Austin

This article will show how to set a task priority within a task template.

If you want to predefine a Task with a Priority each time the template is used, you can edit the properties of Tasks to automate this.

To set the Task Priority in a Task Template:

  1. Select Settings from the top right-hand corner of your screen.
  2. Select Tasks on the left-hand side of the Settings Console.
  3. Select Task Templates under the drop-down. Any templates that are already configured are shown in the list view.
  4. Select the Name of the Task template to edit the record.
  5. Under Task Options, select the Priority of the task using the drop-down. Choose from the following:
  • Inherit from source task: When the status of a Task is changed, all subsequent recipients will receive the Task with the defined priority. Until the Task is complete, or the priority is changed again.
  • Select when utilised: Allows the user to select the priority EVERY time the Task is used. This can be inconvenient if the Task is used frequently.
  • Low: This will sort Tasks to the bottom of the receiving inbox, and mark them with a Low stamp. Sorting by oldest or newest is ignored for Low priority items.
  • Normal: This is the default setting for all Tasks.
  • High: This will sort Tasks to the top of the receiving inbox, and mark them with a High stamp. Sorting by oldest or newest is ignored for High priority items.
  • Two Week Wait: This will prioritise Tasks in the same way as High, however, the marker in the Task is labelled as Two Week Wait, making it clear to the recipients.
  1. Select Update to save changes.
