How to Edit Filing Details

This article describes how to correct mistakes in the Filing Details of a document.

If a document is filed incorrectly with mistakes made in the Filing Details, such as; Event date, Description, Organisation name, Department or the Folder selected. All these fields can be amended to correct any errors found.

To edit the Filing Details of a document:

  1. Search for and open the Patient record.
  2. Identify the document that requires deleting.
  3. Select Filing Details in the Document Actions panel on the right.
  4. Edit the Filing Details as required. Use the drop-downs, date picker or free text to make the amendments necessary. You can change the following:

• Event Date

• Description

• Organisation

• Department

• Person

• Folder

• Notes

• Do Not Share Document with Docman Share

• Tags

• Internal Document Access

  1. Tick the Add Document link to Clinical System box.
  2. Add an appropriate Filing Code. This will ensure that the updated document and the details are added to the clinical system with the amended details.
  3. Select Save. This will update the details in Docman and your Clinical System.
A warning prompt will remind you to remove the document with the previous incorrect details from your Clinical System. Docman can only add information to the Patient record, not remove it.
