Account lockout – User password reset bypass
What have we done?
We have introduced a bypass which will allow users to automatically unlock their account.
Why have we done this?
This has been done to ensure that users can still gain immediate access to their account after it has been locked.
How will you benefit?
Users will be able to unlock their account themselves at any time. Previously, a locked account could only be unlocked by a System or Organisation Administrator.
Details of the change
In our previous release (238) we enhanced the account lockout process so that, if a user enters incorrect login information 5 times, their account is locked for 15 minutes.
In this release, we have added a bypass which will allow users to reset their password (using the existing password reset functionality) to unlock their account and end the lockout period. Previously, the 15-minute lockout period could only be ended early by a system administrator or an organisation administrator.
Unable to create a group on Connect if the letters are included in an existing group name
What have we done?
Allowed users to create groups on Connect if there is a partial match with an existing group.
Why have we done this?
To ensure that users can create Connect groups with overlapping group names.
How will you benefit?
You will be able to create Connect groups with overlapping group names and will only be blocked from creating a group if there is an exact match with an existing group.
Details of the change
It was reported that Connect users were unable to create a new group on Connect if there was a partial match with an existing group name. For instance, users were unable to create a ‘Urology’ group if they already had an existing ‘Neurology’ group.
A fix has been developed to ensure that users will only be blocked from creating a group if there is an exact match with an existing group name. This exact match is not case-sensitive so, for example, a user would be blocked from creating a ‘Neurology’ group if they have an existing ‘neurology’ group.
