Turning off the Docman Scheduler
Updated
by Training & Knowledge
This article will provide guidance to turn off the Docman Scheduler for Docman 7. This is in readiness for a practice to migrate from Docman 7, to the latest version of Docman 10.
Scheduler Location
The Docman Scheduler software runs on the designated Docman Server PC in the practice. This maybe a different server to your clinical server, and maybe accessible via a RDP connection if it is a Virtual Machine (VM). Someone in the practice should be familiar with its location.
Stopping EDT Tasks
The scheduler runs multiple tasks, each task must be stopped. There is a process to ensure that the tasks cannot, or do not restart. Please follow the steps defined below from the Scheduled Task Manager window:
- Select a Task
- Select Edit Task
- Change Startup Type field to Manual
- Change the Password for the Task, to be intentionally incorrect
- Select Save
- On the Tasks Manager screen, select Stop
- Repeat steps 1-6 for ALL Tasks in the screen
Removing the Scheduler from the Startup menu
Once you have stopped all the collection Tasks in the scheduler, you must stop scheduler running on the startup menu.
- Search in Programs, for Startup. Or use this path: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
- Locate the Docman Scheduler
- Right-click and delete the Docman Scheduler, or turn Off the software from the list
